New York, first
The US Open main draw begins on August 30 and runs through September 13, placing almost the entire tournament inside the month. Carlos Alcaraz returns after four months away with a wrist injury to defend his title. Jannik Sinner is out. Coco Gauff arrives after winning Cincinnati. Novak Djokovic is back in a draw containing another generation of contenders. The 2026 US Open men’s singles draw is set!

New York has also been getting louder online.
Last year’s US Open produced nearly 47 million visits across its digital platforms, up 19% year on year. The men’s final averaged 3 million viewers on ABC, its biggest audience in a decade, while the women’s final was up 50% from the previous year.
A Grand Slam creates two weeks of constantly changing search intent. Draws become matches. Matches become upsets. An obscure fourth-round opponent can become one of the most searched names in the sport by midnight.
Europe answers

A week later comes Madrid, making its debut on the calendar from September 11 to 13. Baku follows from September 24 to 26. Three September race weekends, each producing its own sequence of practice, qualifying, race day and fallout.
Formula 1 puts its global fanbase at 827 million. Its social platforms generated more than 2.3 billion engagements during 2025, while YouTube highlight viewing grew 33% year on year. In its Global Fan Survey, 61% of respondents said they engage with F1 content daily.
That creates a different rhythm from a single final or marquee fixture.
Friday has stories. Saturday has stories. Sunday has considerably louder stories.
Then everybody gets on a plane and does it again.
September 8 to 13 gets silly

Then, on September 9, the NFL arrives.

The league averaged 18.7 million viewers per regular-season game in 2025, its second-highest average since records began in 1988. Outside the United States, the NFL says its following has grown beyond 183 million fans.
And the league is pushing harder abroad in 2026. Nine international games are scheduled across four continents, including Melbourne in September and Rio later that same month.
